The fight has been ugly. The allies of Schlapp as well as Tony Sayegh who is another candidate for the position, began jousting in the media. Schlapp stated that, after that the Washington Examiner had published an article that had negative reviews of Sayegh's character, she called Sayegh to have a private discussion.
