Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor and morning reporter on WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year Award to every aspect of South Carolina media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. The present role of O'Dell as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also co-hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
